Have issues with Skunk2 Cmaber kit and can't find the solution on the search.
Hey,
I think the solution to my problem was posted here, but i can not find it in the search. I have a set of skunk2 arms on our ITR STX car and they are now slipping on the passanger side, this happened after we took the car to the local road course for some fun.
I remember there was a issue with these yet i know come HC cars and others use them with no problems, was there a hardware fix for these? is there somthing i can do or modify on them without reinventing the wheel?
Thanks in advance,
Victor

I think they replaced the supplied hardware with actual 10 grade bolts instead of those allan key deals and also used some Loctite as well
That is about all that I can remember.
That is about all that I can remember.
The basic fix is:
1 - Remove the coating from around the slots, where the bolts contact.
2 - Replace the socket head bolts with standard bolts.
3 - Replace the washers used on the bolts with star style lock washers.
Others have gotten more elaborate, but that's the starting point. I personally am stil using the original hardware and have had no problems with slipping. I don't adjust it very often, though, so maybe that helps.
Do an archived topics search for Skunk2. There are tons of threads with useful info.

hi.
i'm using them, too. the secret is to take off ALL the powdercoating where the balljoint/hardware slides.
it took me about 20 mins to carefully remove all the coating. then i roughed it up a bit with a file, both on the top and bottom. i am using the original hardware (with loctite) and it is not slipping.
i roadrace in H1 and last weekend went off-roading at least 5 times. no slippage.
good luck

Here is a product made to fix them. Email Dave. He's a great fabricator.

I have the newer version of these arms... I didn't remove the coating, but I replaced the hardware with grade 12.9 allen bolts and locking star washers and haven't had any problems.
I use the new version with locktite and haven't had an issue.. yet.. <knocks on wood>

i haven't had any problem yet but a plan on using loctite and maybe better lock washer as preventative maintenance.

And buy the bolts just a bit longer and use lock nuts to insure they stay tight. I had this problem for a while my self..
