Default Using Skunk 2 stg. 1 cams or CTR intake cam on a bone stock B18C1.........wat can I expect from it??

Just as the post says, I want to try and use either Skunk 2 stg. 1 cams or the CTR intake cam on my B18C1. I have no header and no exhaust...just all the OEM hardware. Just wondering if it was possible to use either one of these cams and gain any power. I plan to get an exhaust later on down the line, but I would like to see what type of a difference cams can make on a stock engine. I do plan to use chipped P28 if I run the cams so at least I'll have some form of tuning.

Any input, please chime in....thanx!

Ok to be the first to answer your question.
I did the same thing u did, but in my case, I slapped on some 2001 Itr cams, Stock intake, stock hader, stock exhaust, stock crappy manifold. When it was stock my car was pulling 141whp, then with the cams on I got a crappy 132whp, but then again its not a drop in installation, and still havent tuned it, I got a header, ITR AEM intake, and WsII catback, test pipe, and a vafc to set my vtec x-over, and a sk2 manifold. I havent taken it to the Dyno yet but Im beating hatches with a ls/vtec with same mods except for the itr cams. I think with a chipped ecu it'll be alot better. Or if not save up some cash for Crome, I think Ive seen a 10hp gain with these cams and I think CTR and ITR cams are identical.

one thing you will find with the sk2s1s is that the base circle tuning between the primary and the vtec lobes are really good. translation = less need for tuning
for you, however if you tune with crome or better you will find power everywhere.
great cam to drop in. especially if you have a decent header and intake manifold on there I like many here have seen the difference between them
and a stock GSR or B16 cam, I saw 18whp increase tuned with crome/uberdata
on a project car back in 5/04
