megan header, JDMshit header: addressed on an integra LS
I've searched and only found posts about GSR's, my question is would a JDM style megan header or a JDMshit header fit on my 94 LS? I noticed that the jdmshit header collector is 2.5" but the megan header is advertized as 2.1: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem
can anyone clear this up for me? as well as for fitment? If you cant, then post mean comments at least
lol

really? what if I just got a new cat... i remember I tried putting on a JDM itr header and everything was fine up until where it was supposed to connect to the cat, the cat flange was the opposite way and also was a much smaller collector size.... a jdm header has a 2.5" collector right so I would have to get a cat that was 2.5" as well? or 2.25 or something like that?
I just dealt with this problem when changing from a megan 4-1 (big collector) to a dc 4-2-1 (smaller). I took my bottom header piece and my cat to an exhaust shop and they cut off the cat flange and put a different one on.
If you purchase your header then take your cat off then you can take them to an exhaust shop and they'll set you up. If you don't want to take your car apart and take exhaust parts to a shop then you can just measure the collector on your new header and find a hi flow cat with the right size inlet.

oh okay, I was thinking about doing your second suggestion... maybe a omnipower test pipe? I dunno lol hopefully it will pass NYS inspection

The only thing about my solution is that we don't have inspections in AL. I know they make a hi flow cat in the size you want, though, so just measure the collector on your header, the length of your current cat, and the outlet size on your cat and find a hi flow that matches those specs.

one more thing, someone told me that where you bolt on a header in an LS differs in pattern than in a GSR, if that is the case, then a megan JDM 4-1 header for a GSR wont bolt on correctly to my LS motor? Or is that person incorrect?
it should bolt right up to your ls. the cat length is different though so you will need to make a trip to a muffler shop to get some custom welding done
i was just planning on doing the whole omni power jdm flange/size test pipe... i think that one is length adjustable
u do realize your not going to be gaining power of any sort.
megan is garbage and the gains are minimal if any. wait and save for an ls/vtec and then buy some used dc sports 4-2-1 and you may pick up 5-7hp when ur vtec with dc. right now its not worth the time or effort for the 1-2hp you may or may not be gaining. especially is ur still rockin the long *** ls gear box

prove what you just said
, is that just your opinion? I've seen reviews that megan is pretty good... and comparable to DC sports (haha I actually heard they were both garbage and that I should save up for a $800 header) and why not just buy this stuff now and then get LS/vtec in the future, no diff and JDM header = bigger collector (I know not always a positive) but I guess im willing to take my chances and plus, I'll feel better
