Default rough running..

Okay.. I just put a skunk2 racing intake mani on my d15b7. There are a few questions I have, that might affect how it runs

1. There are no cut outs on the intake mani for the throttle body like the stock one. ( I dont know exactly what they are called, but they match the ones on the throttle body.) Also I dont have a gasket yet.
2. I accidently broke something here is a pic of what I broke I have no idea what its called.
The thing that broke off is were the vacuume hose connects =X. Plastic not for the win

Oh ya and when I hit the gas, my intake whistles LOL

So would that cause my engine to run roungh if I dont not have that vacuume line connected, for the reason I broke it

i broke my evap purge while swapping in my b-series. I have been running without it for a while, no issues. This is on a obd2 motor, with a converted engine harness, running a obd1 hondata ecu. so im not sure if it filters out the readings from that sensor, or what.

In any case, i ran for a while on my stock p28 with no check engine light, with a somewhat smooth idle. so i dont think the evap purge will affect anything.

There is a spot for it and a vacuume nipple for it. No I dont get a check engine light. I read up on it and all it does it put gas "fumes" into your intake. is that correct?

If that is not the cause of it. what is? I cant figure it out, im not throwing any CEL.

One thing that is concerning me, I noticed there is not cut out on the intake mani like the stock one.

also I am burning coolant bad...

Seems like you installed the intake manifold wrong and either didn't gasket the manifold-to-head surface properly or you hooked up a coolant line to a vacuum port.

Did you follow the instructions or did you get excited and break your car?

The evap purge is not necessary and will not cause a CEL or the engine to run rough.

And i agree with checking the gasket. you may need a new one.

hmmm. I dont think I did. there are only two coolant lines going into the manifold. Here are some pics of the vacuum/coolant lines..

Ya I know its dirty, we had like a huge down poor, and I have to drive on dirt roads..

just a quick question is the line going to the top of the throttle body is that a coolint line cant really tell from the picks but if im not mistaking that is supposed to be a vacume line

That is coming from the carbon thing.. the long black cylinder. so no its not coolant.
