Default Suspension issue / looseness

When I drive over uneven surfaces, the car just feels like it's going everywhere. In the front, I'm pretty sure this is because of loose tie rod ends, but what would cause this feeling in the rear end? It feels like my lug nuts are loose (they're not).

It could be a few things. The easiest one to check is the tread on the tires. Do all four tires match? Is there uneven tread wear? Its possible to have a tire belt seperate causing some wierd driveability issues.
Next look at the condition of the rear wheel bearings and ball joint.

If you know that the front end is loose, fix those worn components first and then test drive it again. The back might not be as bad as you think.

How do you check for play between the upper and lower control arms and inner and outter tie-rod ends?

Jack it up and shake the wheel side to side to feel for looseness. If you feel any play, it is most likely tie rod ends. If your car has over 100k miles and the inners have never been replaced, its is highly probable that they are shot. If you cant pinpoint it, set it on a jackstand and have a freind shake it down while while you look for the play.

Do the same thing but shake it top to bottom to check for balljoints, and in and out for wheel bearings. For upper control arms just grab the upper A arm and try and manhandle it. If its loose, youll feel it.

Hope that helps, and be safe if you go under a jacked up car.

blown rear shocks/struts will cause the back end to feel like it's all over the place.

Overall, my car has a bit more bounce. I just assumed that the 5g suspension is a bit softer..
