Default Cage or Roll bar?

I have a 98 civic coupe, I want to get a cage, but after searching, I heard many negative stories about using it in a street car. I want something to make my car safer. My car is mostly a street car with the occational track. I want something that will make my car stronger, especially from side impact. I want something that is bolt on so I can remove it when I need to. Anyone got any suggestions?

The reason why I want a something like a cage is because I got t-boned by a suv before, but lucky I was driving my friend's truck, cuz if it was my civic, i be gone.

SO i guess full cage is out of the questions since its not safe without a helmet.

I'd get the cage and some padding.

I heard that no matter how much padding you have, it is just not safe without a helmet. Since my car is going to be 90% on the street, I was wondering if anyone know any bolt on roll bar with some type of door protection?

Well, nothing is safe without a helmet, you can hit your head on the doorsill or B pillar and die. Cage makes the car safer in a sense that it wont crumple and crush you inside.

Why not wear a helmet on the street?
