Default To Do OR Not To DO? Clutch Install Time/Price

Hey guys, it's about that time for my B16 to get a new clutch. I'm debating wether I should do it or take it in and have it done.

1. Because I have yet to do one myself
2. I have 1.5 days to do it (don't know if that's an issue)

How long does any average "first timer's" clutch install take, from personal experience and how much does it usually cost to have it done at a shop?

P.S. I already have the Exedy clutch kit

I know I can do it, just don't know if I have the time to.

I have all the tools, am familiar with hondas, have a write-up to follow, and have done a head gasket on a honda and a rear diff swap on a 300xz. By myself for the most part.

If you're mechanically inclined, have everything you need (new axle seals, new fluid, etc) you can bang it out in a day pretty easy.

So, other than the clutch kit I have and trans fluid. What other items do I need to pick up?

do it yourself. the price you pay is ridiculous as to do it yoursrelf for free. its really nnot that bad. just make sure you have proper tools.

obvious sockets
torque wrench
pickle fork for ball joints- not necessary but huge help
impact
extensions
jacks
stands
8mm punch for bitch pin

just a couple of the things you'll need

YES. I've had the transmission resting on my chest, while trying to push it up and on the shaft by myself. NOT fun. Definatly get a friend.

First clutch job i did with proper tools took about a day waiting on machine shop to finish. Fastest i think i did to date was about 1.5hours with a friend. Although we did have a resurfaced flywheel already.

Resurfacing the flywheel will take the longest time some times.
