Default Splined Quick Release hubs

Does anyone know of any good, reasonably priced splined quick release hubs that are available for sale? Bolt on, I really dont want to weld onto my steering column.
There used to be tons of them for sale from the typical import shops and HT vendors, they were probably all the same chinese made imported stuff. But those have all been replaced with the even cheaper ball bearing QR hubs, which have way too much wheel wobble and generally suck.
I know there is the LTB hub, but the extension is a little too far for my taste.
The sparco hub is a nice unit but way too expensive.

Anyone know of any others?

Is the LTB much longer than the Sparco, Evan? I didn't realize this. I actually have the LTB now and love it, but you're a bit taller than me, so...

In my experience....the little bit of play that can be detected while working the wheel back and forth in the paddock isn't noticable at all while driving.

In my experience the new ball bearing one is actually less play than two of the others I tried (LTB style, and Longacre splined)

I agree, some back and forth isnt really noticable much on track, but the ball bearing QRs are wobbly front to back (z axis) and rock solid back and forth. I drove RJs car with the BB QR and it felt really skittish, just not "right" especially in a heavily loaded corner like the carousel at shenandoah.

My ball bearing QR was a complete POS, i threw it in the trashcan. I just have a 2" extension instead (hold the jokes).

isn't there ads for some in the back pages of GRM? A company from Cali that specializes in Porsches is coming to mind.

I like my ltb though. Looking at the design, I don't know if you can make a shorter splined QR.

To remove the slop, I put a 1/8" rubber faucet gasket on the bottom of the shaft, so that when the wheel is locked on, it is SLIGHTLY touching the gasket, "filling" the "gap" (har har).

sparco for sure. its worth the extra money. i have a splined one (don't remember which) and its got some play in it. its not noticible unless you have a wheel vibration. then it amplifies it when your going in a straight line.

My OmniPower BB style QR is much better than the NRG one that I took off. Much better than the Longacre splined from the previous car too.

thats interesting. because my nar-spec has plenty of play in it and i've had it for about 2 years now. but my friends with the nrg ballbearing qr have never had a problem with qr play.

yeah that is kind of odd... does your wheel go back into the hub very easily? mine takes a bit of finnesse, and is real tight (lol)...

i guess it might be a case.by.case basis

This is the one I use and it pretty awesome. http://www.sweetmfg.biz/products2.asp?edit_id=31

It is a weld on which is ok for me since I have extra steering columns if I ever want to change back. Its really easy to get off in a pinch.

Don't go with the ball bearing one if you are using it for race applications. They take too long to disconnect (especially with gloves) when needing to get out of the car in an emergency.

how about the Tekniq Quick Release. I've been using it, I love it, but havent had experience at the track with it. Any reviews of that one used in Track conditions?
