hey. i made a similar thread relative to exhaust fitting on 2006's and found out that they DO NOT, only the Invidia fits. aside from that. i have read that the Intakes do not fit without modifications. what modifications do these include?

yeah. well you seem nice enough to help me so thanks... now. the air temp sensor. i understand this is something the '06's do NOT have correct? so does this mean there is a place in the intake for the sensor to be placed that i would have to plug? or what?

 

Only the 06s come with IAT. It means the opposite, that you would have to tap a bung for the IAT.

Respond to my other post about weight savings. I wanna know what you have to say.

 

So could I just buy an 05- V2 intake or anyother intake for that matter . . and just Drill a hole, insert a rubber grommet and go about my happy way?

 

Take your intake elbow, chop off the part that the IAT attaches to, making it your "flange". Tap an AEM big enough, glue your flange to the AEM, and voila! Perfect fit.

i found out that the J's intake DOES have a bung for the IAT for the MY2006. at least that is what AJ-R told me. thanks.

You mean the snorkel that's made for the STOCK airbox? Quote them on the actual INTAKE, and post it here, I'll give you a cookie.

no. they said on the Full Carbon Intake, it has a bung tapped for the IATS.

You are mistaken I'm afraid. That looks like the tap for the crankcase breather. The IAT is a bit bigger than that. It might be on the underside of the intake, but the pic doesnt show it.

 

hmm... well. they said it for sure did. if it doesn't it's not like it would be hard to tap a bung like we mentioned earlier... i guess we will find out soon enough.

 

As long as you have an OEM to chop up, I don't think it'd be too hard.
