Project Mini-Me
so i was thinkin of slappin a D16Z1 head on a D16A6 block for a little project of mine. i have the parts just lying around and i want to see what kind of power i can get out of a sohc motor after i add some bolt-ons. Its going in an OBD1 car... what kind of problems could i run into.
bolt ons don't work so good on single cams as they would on dual cams.
With the mini me, you'd probably make the similar power any other sohc vtec would make, though im not too sure how that mini me would do with a turbo set up...
i hope my $.02 helps you!

Do the head swap, wire for vtec, and then if you have money do a turbo setup. You could go low budget or spend as much as you want, it's just how much you want to spend. Check out http://www.turbod16.com , you can make more power than a B-series swap for a lot less money. Also get an EX trans that will help a a ton due to shorter gear ratios.
i already have an ex tranny. car is wired for v-tec. i have a chipped ecu and cam and cam gear. but i dont want to slap the cam on yet cause i havent decided on an all motor or if i want to boost it.

I have a feeling he meant to say D16Z6 head.
