Ok, here is the story, sorry if its long. A few days ago my friend and I decided to change my breaks and rotors. So during that process my girlfriend was cleaning the inside of my engine bay. My friend and I got all done and i started my car and the idle shot up to about 2g. I thought that was strange because I have had that same problem before where my idle shot up like that and stayed. So i went for a test drive and it was sputtering and hesitating in lower rpms and at part throttle, at WOT it had no problems what so ever. These were the same symptoms of the problem i had before.
Before when I had this problem i was trying to adjust my idle and i kept unpluging the TPS instead of the IACV. So i unpluged it with the car off then remembered that it had to be unplugged when the car was on. So i plugged it back in and i started my car and it idled fine.
This time i tried doing that same thing, just unplug some sensors, plug them back in and start the car. But the idle didnt go back to normal this time. It keeps the idle at a constant 1800. Some times it will idle at 1500 or even 1400. But never goes to normal. So i unplugged my iacv when it was running and it dropped to normal, i thought that was awsome, but when i plugged it back in it freeken went back up. That was a few days ago. Today I tried to adjust my idle just to see if that helped at all. So i let my car warm up and i unplugged it, but this time the idle went down but kept serging really fast between 1400-1500. Just up and down, up and down. So i cleared my ecu and tried again. It did the same thing. So now im out of all ideas. Does anyone have any ideas??????
My set up is first gen b16a head on a b18a bottom. DC sports header, b18c cams, skunk2 IM.

i will try some of those out and get back to you. I dont have an fitv anymore due to the skunk2 IM. I just bought a new iacv, mine for some reason was leaking coolent out the bottom plate. My pcv looked good, but i will go check it again. another problem I have is that i dont think my fan turns on. i let it idle and the temp goes way up.

now my idle is surging a lot and idleing at about 2g the other times. My iacv is leaking coolent, so i just bought another one and im hopeing that solves the problem
sounds like u already found ur answer
u unplugged the iacv, problem went away,
plugged it in, problem came back.
thus, iacv is the problem(or at least hints at the problem).
try out that new one and let us know
