i think my mom was victimized by the stealership... i overlooked her tune-up receipt, everything looked cool, except the 'platinum spark plugs' which cost $23. a piece. holy ****, please tell me they dont actually cost this much
You can get a decent set of aftermarket plugs at any parts store for no more than 5-6 bucks a piece.
Tell your mother to NEVER go to the dealership, but only use them as a last resort for an unobtainable part.
I used to Manage an O'Reilly's, and I have NEVER sold ANY spark plug for any more than 15-16 bucks, but those are "super performance" plugs for turbo and SC'd applications.

thats what i figured, i want to go in there and tear them a new one. they told me that my ef hatch doesnt have any balljoints
Ha.
Thats nothing, I called a dealership in RI, asking for a Cam Sensor on an 01 Em2. Explained my problem, and he wanted to know if I had tested the Distributor to solve the problem I was trying to help a guy out with. I told him that it is a DIS (Distributorless Ignition System) and his exact words were, "Well, it has to have a distributor to provide spark."
Really smart people were dealing with here.
Anything you need, never go to the dealership if you can help it.
