Weird rattling noise.
When I am giving my car barely any gas, a weird rattling noise comes from under the dash, kind of near the pedals. When I push the pedal to the floor or close to it, it will go away. I have steel braided line that runs oil to my oil pressure gauge. I got under the dash one day, and saw that the braided line was touching the pedal a little. I taped it up with some electrical tape, but still, the rattling continues. My question is, could it be anything else? Such as anything with the motor, tranny, etc? Maybe I'm just worrying a little too much, but the noise is really annoying! Let me know if any of you have had a similar problem. Thanks for the help guys!
LOL! Well, I got under the dash when my car was parked, in the garage and raining outside. Thanks for the advice though, I'll keep that in mind!
Heat shield? A-Pipe? You need to find exactly where it is comeing form. Try pushing stuff with say the end of a broom stick under the car while it is running and see if the noise stops.
Also the hand brake release button on my R rattles like a bitch some times. Its a realy light hollow metal sound. Took my for ever to figure out where it was coming from cause it just seemed to come from under the dash. My GF ended up finding one night
just don't look under the dash while your drivin, let your girl do that!
