Popping noise while steering
Lately I have been noticing my car making a popping noise while steering
. It only happens when I am below 10 mph. It sounds like the popping is coming from the front suspension. I was wondering if any of you had an idea what it could be. I checked the power steering fluid, and it is full. I have a 2006 type s, I don't drive it hard or have any modifications. Thanks.

I haven't noticed any decrease in performance, it just bothers me that it is making noise. I am going to talk to a mechanic friend of mine, and maybe talk to the dealer.

Actually there is a problem with his car if his suspension is popping, you're telling me that it's normal and his suspension should be popping? lol oh boy.
To the OP bring your car to your dealer and have them fix that problem, don't allow them to tell you that it's normal for ANY vehicles suspension to make popping noises.

Im not going to say I know why it's popping but most likely NOT because of struts/shocks. Most likely not enough clearance in between the perch so they'll have to adjust the clearnace. Let us know what they say. They should have a service bulletin about it, they should be well aware of the problem.

Haha, well the guy who helped me out said that it was normal to be hearing these noises, I think it was because the popping isn't that loud. He said that if it got any worse to bring it back.

I'm pretty sure that my sound is coming from the suspension, if anything happens the dealer is going to hear about it. But, I was reading some where that suspension needs to settle then the bolts where the suspension connects to the body of car need to be tightened. If anyone has info on this that would be great, I'm going to check it out on my car and see if that fixes things.

There are lots of people having this problem on the 05-06's. There is a service bulletin out there for it, but I don't remember where. I had this problem with my Type-S. I took it to the dealership along with the complaint and they had heard of the problem before. They added silencer tubes or something of that nature and it solved the problem. It hasn't done it since and the car now has 25,000 miles.

Apparently this has happened to a lot of people on clubrsx. The fix seems to be silencer tubes from the mdx. I am going to call acura to see what the deal is.

Sure. The first time I had it repaired it wasn't fixed and I took it back in less than 400 miles. The second time they got it right and it was fine.

my car does the same thing, i have a 02 and its cuz my spring is rubbing against the bolts on the top part that goes through the strut tower... it pops really loud when i turn, and if it pops when i turn left, my car will pull left until i turn right again, same thing with the right side.... i dont know if your car does that too or not, but it is most likely your suspension, or steering components
I find that this is always a helpful site. Poke around the site its crazy the TSB's that come up especially with FORD! They also have recalls and other handy info also.
