Default Honda Challenge-SPEC TIRE for NASA NATIONALS?

Sorry if this topic has been covered (I don't think it has)

I presume the "official" spec tire for ALL Honda Challenge Racers is going to be the Toyo RA-1. Anyone that wants to win and collect the contingency prize money MUST use the RA-1's. However, I noticed that some of the east coasters (and mid-west??) have Kuhmo as their official spec tire. Does this mean we have the option to use anytire we'd like (besides Toyo) and forgo the Toyo prize money?

OR Do we declare Toyo as the OFFICIAL SPEC TIRE for ALL Honda Challenge racers at the nationals? If this is the case, should it be a rule that ALL SESSIONS: practice, qualifying, qualifying race, and championship race MUST be run on Toyo's?

I just want every HC racer at the Nationals to be on the same page

There is no region that currently has a spec tire of Kumho. To run at the National Championships in September at Mid-Ohio, you must be on a Toyo.

Hope this helps.

Just to reiterate what Jason is saying, you must run on Toyos. That includes practice, qualifying, and racing!

....and your tow vehicle and trailer must be on Toyo tires, along with any other cars that you might own, or bicycles. Toyo doesn't actually make bicycle tires though, so you'd better sell it before they find out you are on somebody else's rubber.

Ok, that's what I thought. In an earlier post, I noticed from the (borrowed) pics (seen below), kuhmo decals were on the cars that recently ran on the east coast. I thought maybe, it was their spec tire. Just want to be clear for the nationals-sorry for the confusion-

here are the (borrowed) pics of the kuhmo shod cars: Real nice looking cars, btw!

Thanks on the compliments and yes, Adam takes some awesome pictures, doesn't he?

Kumho is the dominant tire on the east coast because of the fantastic contigency they offer the drivers
