I don't mind it... but I'm just surprised that Spoon, Mugen, 5zigen and other Japanese companies don't realize what's going on and let knock-off's walk around the streets.

If they (japanese companies) were smart enough, they would patent the design of the wheels and make money off that. Just comes down to smart business sense vs. having none.

What the hell can they going to do about it? Nothing. But I guarantee you they realize.

Can you patent an appearance item? It's not like they're reinventing the wheel.

they can't...there are only so many designs for a wheel...the best htey can do is patend the logo that goes on the wheel..

It's not exactly like the MF 10's. The spokes on the Mugen's don't come all the way out to the outer lip like that.

Paint 'em gunmetal. For the price of MF10s, you can probably buy 3 sets of these Konigs. I'm sure the weight difference in minimal. I like them.

funny you say that....japan has copied american innovations for years, and get "around" copyright laws because they dont apply overseas. the motorcycle industry comes to mind.
i say who gives a chit, if you get the mugens and like em, great. if you want the look, could care less about the function get the knockoffs....to each his own

I don't think those wheels come in a 5 lug.
ITRs would need to do a 4 lug conversion.

they are 4 bolt.. and they arent exact.. MF10 is an ugly azz wheel to copy..
only thing cool about MF10's is thier weight..

I happen to be quite partial to my bronze MF-10's on my black car.

Have any of you flipped the pages of the new SCC mag? Maybe it was Import Tuner... Anyways... KONIG has a new wheel that look slike another old school Mugen.
Probably will be the next trend like Rota Slips if they're light and strong.

riiight

Too bad it's 4 lug.

If a 16x7 weighed 11# or less, it'd be a suitable copy vs. the $550 Mugen MF-10.

Instead, it's 14.5# in 15x6.5 - I'll keep my stockers!

And as far as MF-10s being "ugly"... I think they'z purrrrrrty! Although I'd paint my $550 MF-10s CW. I guess that's why I don't have any.
