Default Oil filter Question for SIR B16A

hey guys i just bought a 2000ex with a b16A, was told is a SIR becasue of liitle things like not vacume line to connect cruise and few others, My questions is i bought a regualr oil filter for a 2000si with a b16a2 , and it leaks around the seal under high rpm's i took it off to insure i did not have 2 seals, and i dident, so i went back and got another brand of filter, fram, and same thing.. has anyone ever heard of this motor requiring a differnet filter?

sounds odd. I have a sir2 also and just use the b16a2 oil filter no problem. are you sure the thread might not be stripped causing the filter to not go all the way in? I use purolator, try that to see if it would work. A common mistake i see the autozones and such do is when i say si, they punch in ex so i get a d series filter instead of b. watch the screen when they pull it up to make sure it says b16a2.

i have a sir2 b16a just like you, i use regular fram/stp/whatever brand that is listed for the DEL SOL VTEC and 2000 Si... same filter...

i have no problems, i just hand tighten the filter... make sure you oil up the rubber rings before putting the filter in... or maybe its your blok in the filter area that has something fucked up about it...

no special filter needed for jdm...
