Default Poll: Is a mini-me a worthwhile mod?

I know this has been discussed before, but I don't think a poll was ever done on it. I've spent the last month ordering overpriced parts for my brother's mini-me and fighting tooth and nail to get a refund for a Z6 cylinder head that was never shipped. So, I know in my case, unless this thing puts out 200 whp and starts up perfectly, it's not worth it.

What do other people think? Is vtec and a supposedly high compression ratio worth all the aggravation, money and time? If you've done one, share your experience. Answer according to if you've done it or not. Some people hate on the mini-me without ever doing one themselves.

Some pros and cons, IMO:

Pros:
- about 20hp gain
- no lift necessary
- vtec
- "fun" project?

Cons:
- costs add up
- can cause a whole bunch of problems, like erratic idle
- you're still a SOHC

Bauley did a writeup on his minime a long time ago. He later made a post/thread saying that it was not worthwhile to do the minime.

Better just to boost the D you got or find a d16z6 all together. Ive helped a friend do the head conv and then I did my z6 swap. I found the z6 swap to go better than the head swap.

If you do the right combination it is worth it in my opinion... especially in a small light car...

Ask Bauley, he'll tell you it was a waste of time/money.

Boosted D series is better.
