i currently have a b16 w/ bolt ons running a gsr tranny in my car.That's the tranny i got with the swap so it wasn't by choice ofcourse i wanna do a 2.0l build for weekend drag and fun in general. i've been hearing different things. First the gears are longer than b16/itr(which i knew already) and it's bad for drag then on the other hand i've been hearing...keep the gsr and add an lsd to it because the longer gears will be good for the build especially if it's torquey...it'll optimize the torque in the rpm band.People with drag experience with B series build please give your opinion. I forgot to mention this is a street car ofcourse.My goal was to try and find a jdm itr tranny 4.7 FD..but it's hard to find since most people don't split them or sell my gsr tranny and buy a b16 tranny.what should i do????

 

sell the gsr and get a b16/itr tranny. and never look back.

definitely sell your GSR tranny and try to look for an ITR tranny. i sold mines and picked up a 2001 JDM ITR tranny 4.7 FD with LSD for my GSR. best mod ever done to my car. the tights gears are awesome. night and day difference. you'll love it.

 

Try to get the ITR if possible. If not available...you can always bolt in the 4.78 final to give you a little more aggressive acceleration

 

good stuff guys .where's the best place to buy a 4.7 final drive for a good price? i'll try to get the jdm itr or even usdm, if not i'm gonna have to settle for an ordinary b16 tranny, then i'm gonna have to add final drive and lsd
