Hi, basically my friend has a d16y8 engine.. Obd1 in his 96 4dr civic.. He wants to get a SC kit for it..

Now this is the kit : 1996-00 - CX, DX, LX - D16Y7 (989-210) Will that kit bolt up to a Vtec D series head..?? Or is it a different bolt pattern?

Sorry.. Im a b series guy and i dont have a clue on this one!

y8 is actually an obd2 motor, but doesnt matter. im sure they make the JRSC for the y8, just not the one you have listed.

It should fit, I mean you can put a Y8 mani on a Y7 so why shouldn't that work.

 

it will bolt up fine, just the management that comes w/ it will be wrong. and if its intercooled, air to water, the coolant lines will be in the wrong places, but it will bolt up fine.

 

jrsc part # 969-200. dont use a y7 sc on a y8 head.
