disappearing problems in my 97 civic
I bought this 97 civic a while ago as a project and havent had time to work on it. the problem im having with it now is I cant seem to figure out this electrical problem. basically I'll start it one day and the alternator will charge fine (I unhook the battery the car still runs) the next day I start it and I unhook the battery and it dies. and now it wont charge the car at all it just runs off the battery till the battery dies, except for every once and a while it just decides to start working again. has anyone else had this problem? any help would be greatly apprecieated

Bad grounds or connections somewhere that might be connecting and disconnecting as you go over bumps.
Another note, be careful running a car with the battery cable off. you could fry computures on newer cars.

I checked and cleaned all the grounds already and I dont even drive the car it just sits and one day I go out and check it, it will work the next day it wont
