Default h22a swap into my 05 civic ex...need advice...

Hey guys, I am strongly considering doing an h22a swap into my car instead of a turbo set up for my d17, maybe later on I can safetly turbo the h22a, but I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons, it also seems it will be cheaper for me to pick up an h22a and swap it, rather than install a turbo system. (by about $800) a turbo would bring my car to the HP level of a h22a, of course with still obvious differences between the motors, but I'm thinking h22 is the best way to go. The only concern I have, is the motor mounts, and other things I may not know about, I would really like to hear from someone who has also done this type of swap. I know I can get the h22 + ecu + tranny, wiring harness, axles...ect..(everything from the prelude) for a little under $1600.00. What else would I need for this swap. I've heard of people having to make custom motor mounts and that gets pricey fast at $75/hr, so I want to see how others have done it. I guess what I'm getting at is there anyway around things w/o having custom mounts made? Thanks in advance.

I also wanted to add, that I know this has been discussed, but for the life of me I couldn't find another thread.

1. its to much work
2. its illegal because the h22 is older than your 05
3. k20s will fit with mounts and be much easier to install etx., and have far greater potential than any b-series.

k 20 is also A LOT more and would be cheaper to turbo, I was considering a b18c possibly, or also the h series h22a, does anyone know if the b18c will mount directly to my car or any other engines besides the k20 series that will mount either directly or with little modifications? (ps. how is putting an older engine in your car, illegal? I've just never heard that before) btw, nice car on prostreet, clean.

lots of people have thought of those swaps but no one has done it, main reason is because they'd have to get custom mounts, then they'd have to figure out how to wire everything, and people just rather spend the extra money and do a k-series swap. its easier, and its newer technology that is rapidly showing better gains then the b series.

thanks, yeah the money I'd spend in custom mounts, I could have bought a k series, I think I may just turbo the d17 afterall, damn h22's are sooo cheap though! Kind of makes me wish I had a 99 or 00. eh..

if you like h22's price, check out the k24a2's price.

theres more of a chance of having problems with an H22 since its an older motor and all. I would stick with the d17 or if you looking for more power out of the motor look into the k series... a lil pricey but it would be worth the money.

B series or H series will end up costing u more than a K swap, because. EVERYTHING must be custom made, mounts, wiring, maybe axels, tranny mount. EVERYTHING. k20 swaps will also outperform a h22a or any B. If u are really tight on $$ try a d17 turbo, people are seeing reasonable #'s from D17T's and they cost about half as much as a K swap.
