you might be running too rich. I had the same problem so I leaned out my fuel with my AFC. Do you have a AFC? That could be the problem. Mine always backfired when I let off the gas. IS your check engine light on or coming on?

You might want to check your exhaust for leaks. Fuel doesn't burn without oxygen. If you're running rich, you should only have excess fuel in the exhaust which is fine, unless you have an exhaust leak. The fast moving exhaust will actually suck in fresh air and cause a potentially explosive combination, hence -> the BackFire.

You can ease back on the fuel so it's not soo rich... but in turbo applications, you always want to be a bit on the rich side... so you'll always have a backfire problem unless you seal up your exhaust.

I've been there... Fixed that.... now im there again.. and about to fix it again... I keep losing my manifold bolts .... hence i get a leak.. and it backfires... i replace the bolts.. and voila... no more backfiring.
