Default Welding Trunk holes, qwick????

Is there a certain way to do this? Should I place a small peace of metal under the hole and weld that one?

use copper on the back so you can fill the hole w/out welding the backing piece to it.

Use copper? do you mean take a piece of copper and place it under the hole so when I weld it I can remove the copper and the hole will be filled? Like use a Penny?
