8000 RPM Showdown
This SCC article was from Oct of 2000 so it's old but I'm sure some of you would like to read it again. The test was between the Celica GT-S, Prelude SH, Integra GS-R, and the Type R. The entire 17 page review has just been uploaded to my site. Enjoy!

For quick reference here are the test results (my favorite part)

Hmmmm The Celica out braked and out slalmoned the Type R, but the R has bigger brakes ( on front anyway ) and better G numbers ( Higher grip ) .. What gives?

There are a lot more important factors than brake size that determine single stop braking distances. Tires and weight are the biggest, but there are also things like suspension geometry, modulatability and front to rear brake and weight bias. The Celica must have had a better combination of the other factors.
The R had better lateral Gs because it has better tires. Tires are the most important in a lateral G test, especially when the cars are so closely matched in weight.
The constant speed slalom generally favours narrower, understeering cars. The R usually gets a bit of a pendulum effect in the slalom which scrubs off speed if you can control it and spins it if you don't.
The Celica is a light car. Toyota knew it became bloated so when they redesigned they either engineered a better chassis or borrowed more from the Corolla. I think they did a bit of both.
