thanks for the update. nice to hear good clean racing. congrats to the winners.

A shame about that red S2000. In ~40 track days I only had a few minor rubs... that thing has taken a beating the last 2 weekends of racing.

Where was your car adam? Chad didnt make it up? Whats up with Helms so far back?

HOW ABOUT Chris Drabouski ON THE PODUM!!!! KUHMO' $$$$$....

Any lap times? any 1:04's....

I just love that track but there are couple of places where you can get into trouble if you get off line.

Yeah, he's had a tough time over the past 2 races. John W. had some in-car video, it looks like his right rear locked up for some reason, he spun, John missed him, Andrew didn't. I think it's just cosmetic damage on the front bumper/splitter area. Chris drove his *** off for sure! Kevin had a flat spotted tire, but still managed to finish 4th. I think Jason ran a 104.8 in qualifying, but race laps were 1.05's for Jason & Pete.

I forgot to tell John to pick me up a "I lapped the Beaver" shirt. They were sold out the last 3 times I have been there

Robert Brent was piloting Chris Stiffler's car. I just found out the car was involved in collision today
Robert is OK I am told, although the car took some significant front end damage. Anyone have any updated info?
Congrats to the winners!

I just got in from the Beave and I'm tired but I give a small H1 update. Today Pete Curpier got pole in H1 and I was able to grab 2nd, 1:04.8? to 1:04.9?.. The top 5 guys were within .5sec a lap. We had a standing start again, Pete was on the left and I was on the right. The geen flag dropped and we were heading into turn 1 side by side. Neither of us were willing to back down but coming out of 2 we bumped, causing Pete to spin. Luckily he recovered and got right back out on track. Jason franza took advantage of the situation and slipped right by me. I chased him around but by the time we got back to turn 1 the yellow flags were out due to a nasty crash. I don't really know any details because I was ahead of it. We were under double yellow for around 5 or 6 laps before the restart. Anyway, Jason was able to slip away in traffic, then heading into the last lap I mishifted on the uphill out of 10 and Pete was able to slip by me to take 2nd.. Oh well, he deserved it. He raced his *** off all weekend.

Thanks guys for some great racing! The 9 months off felt like a lifetime...

I broke a hub in Saturday's Race, I went home (1.5hr drive) and put a new hub and ball joint back in it and brought a spare axle since I mushroomed the old one ponding it out of the broken hub. Then, during Sunday Qualifing I tore the axle boot on the spare axle and had about one hour after the drivers meeting to pull the axle and put a new boot on it before the race on Sunday. Thanks to Kevin Helms and I believe his name was Corey for all their help and loaning me a spare boot and helping me rebuild it and getting me back on the track. It was busy weekend for me but some fun racing guys.

I got some video and of the spin of Chris Stiffler car and Robert Brent. I was a few cars back, but apparently at least from what I can tell from watching the video several times he spun untouched, most cars got around him but then came Trevor Melville who was right behind me and you can see pieces flying as I went past to the inside.

Thanks for the heads up, Walter. Great meeting you this weekend, and great job this weekend making Whitaker sweat!

As always, it was great seeing everyone this weekend. I think the OH/IN region is on the right track. There are a few kinks, but I have faith they'll get ironed out before long. Overall, the event was on time and ran well I thought.

Congrats to all the HC racers for some damn fine racing this weekend. I wouldn't want to share the track with anyone other than these guys. Great characters, competitors, families, and friends

Big thanks to the BAR S2000 driver John Oldt for the stage 5 clinger action Saturday night. Also, good job by Chris for pulling a Tarzan on John's trailer getting CBS to come in for the F1 race, LOL. Oh, and the podium finishes weren't bad, either

Lock it up!!!

Jason-
who'll surely be picking that one up soon

Congrats to what seem like an exciting race.

Looks like we know who the top guns are in the East.

Watch out, the West Coast guys will come to show the East Coast boys, how we roll here on the West

See you guys at Nationals!

Is that #88 Integra H1?

If that so, I feel bad if he is coming to Nationals. As numbers are in first come first serve basis, and I already reseved #88

Nope sorry, H2.

Take comfort during the 30 hour tow that the treasured "H1 #88" is yours.

Hey - I just finished uploading about 1k pix from the weekend to my web site.....

Link to everything:

Some samples:

H1 grid, I think this is Franza's hood (very nicely done car).

Rex_boy can pass some people when his car actually runs.

Lots of good, close racing.

Maybe even some Spec Miata bump drafting?

Last, here's a picture of me courtesy of Al.

Note the big green lizard logo - our group of friends is now officially sponsored by the bar/restuarant we usually hang out at - the Winking Lizard Tavern. We get shirts and some free food so it's not making me a rich man, but it is a good place and it's kind of fun.

Personally I didn't drive all that well, but I only have myself to blame. I'm using tires that one of the other drivers was going to throw out last November. To say I pushed them beyond their life expectancy is probably an understatement. It looks like I might buy a set of brand new r-comps for the first time ever instead of being cheap and going used. Woohoo, can't wait until MidOhio.

You know, that might still be a problem too. I'm not sure if all class Honda can't run the same number due to the fact the cars are similar. It will be near impossible to recognize the class marking at speed, especially with no formal location to look for.

I might not tow after all. Looks like Tom Lepper might be doing the hauling for few NorCal Racers!
