Elusive Cold/Hot Start Problem
'92 stock 'lude:
Car does not want to start when cold, but also when warm occasionally, although colder weather definately affects the problem.
Turns over great and tries to fire, sometimes partially fireing like "bang, bang, bang" and then will speed up as it gets up to idle speed, or else it will fire up instantly upon one of many attempts (could be the 10th try, for example).
Sometimes during this process it will stumble (bang, bang...), die, and then backfire a nice white smoke out the intake.
I believe the battery is fine since it turns over great (sometimes turing over intermitantly for 5-10 minutes in cold weather).
I have recently replaced: Main relay, fuel filter, cap, rotor, plugs, ran injector cleaner through tank, and cleaned out the intake with cleaner.
I can hear the fuel pump pressurizing the system prior to start up and pressurizing the system by turning the key on and off for a few seconds at a time does not affect the start up (I thought this may discredit the possibility of a bad check valve or leaking injectors).
Once it starts it runs 100% perfect and it idles, accelerates as if new.
Although this problem has been consistant for months, it happens intermitantly, and sometimes starts perfectly fine regardless of the temp, which is really throwing me off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I'm actually checking it this Monday (hopefully). I've just been waiting on a gauge. I'll post the results when I get them.
I just wondering if it's some common ignition problem or something. No searches I've run have found anything though. Since it runs perfect once started and throws no codes I'm really puzzled.

...I've also noticed that when it is having trouble starting it seems to start just as I stop turning it over (as soon as I release the key) whereas if I kept the starter engaged it still may be turning over
