need help installing rearview bracket
so me and my big *** head somehow knocked off my rearview (not the actual mirror, but the bracket) and I have no idea how to put it back on. Can someone help me out or at least point my in the right direction for help? thanks
Auto parts and Hardware stores have rearview mirror adhesive kits.
I got one for like $4 at Home Depot once...it'll be in the glue section.

my mirror is fine; its still attached to the bracket. what came off is the entire bracket itself. im not sure if glue is what i need to reattach the bracket to my car...
Well, that's how they usually attach rearview mirrors to cars, with special glue that mounts the mirror directly on the glass. Does yours not mount on the glass??
Assuming your mirror assembly came out with just the bolt/screw on, this is what you do. Either way, it should help you along the path...
1. Gently pry the interior light out of its recess with a flathead screwdriver. It will either be from the front or back, or both...I forget.
2. With the light out of the way, you can now access the screws that hold the interior trim panel that blocks your way to the O-ring style bracket that holds the mirror to the car. Unscrew everything in sight and remove the plastic trim bit.
3. Now you can unscrew the O-ring bracket from the car. You might want to flatten it with a hammer or something if it bent when the mirror came out.
4. Take the big bolt/screw out of the mirror, put the O-ring on, put the bolt/screw back on, and reassemble everything
Don't worry, mirror incidents will happen to the best of us

wow, what a ridiculous amount of work for something that came out so easily
and yes hawkze, its attached to the ceiling near my interior light. Sorry, i guess i never actually noticed that most cars have their rearview mirrors connected to the windshield...my fault for not clarifying.
anyway, i'll give it a try, though im a little nervous that ill break the light panel...wish me luck.

success. wasn't as bad as i thought. some moron screwed the screw on too tight, so the o-ring had less area to catch it with, which probably explains why it fell so easily. again, thanks to everyone for their help; its much appreciated.
