Default H&R Cup Kit with Race Specific Springs?

I have a H&R Cup Kit for my 2000 Civic Hatch and I plan on autocrossing the car on a regular basis.
What I want to know is if anyone has any experience using the Cup Kit in autocrossing.
I didn't recieve any responses with this question last time but I hope someone may know someone that can point me in the right direction.
Can I buy race springs to use in place of the springs that come with the kit or would it be better to use the "stock" springs that came with it considering it was made for the car/paired with the shock?
TIA
Nate

hmm, i wonder if they use a flat bottom spring like most coilovers do, or if they're an oem style spring/spring perch.

if they're flat, then you could change the springs--however, you're limited by how much spring the damper they use in the kit can handle. I'm not sure what shock they are using in that kit, but chances are it's around 400# before it gets bouncy.

I run the H&R Cup Kit in a '95 Si. I've done a couple autocrosses and an HPDE with the kit installed. I had no problems. The kit is pretty well balanced handling and ride compliance.

The kit I'm using come with rebadged Koni struts/shocks. They are adjustable just like any other Koni sport. The adjustment tool that came with the kit has Koni stamped on it.

I don't see why you couldn't run another spring on those struts. I'm 99% sure they are flat bottom springs.

I second that. Roll what you got! Have fun.

I totally wanted to roll what I have. I just wanted to make sure it is up for the task is all. I am fairly new to the whole autocross scene but I've done alot of backroads highspeed stuff when I was younger becuase I was young and dumb. From my short experience with the H&R kit I totally love them and I had alot of confidence in them but I wanted to be sure. I also do believe that they are flat bottomed springs.

Is there any issues you (creechrr) have had with the H&R's like body roll, adjustment ideas? Anything that can help me out.

Thanks man....I'm not nervous I just don't want to mess my car up too much. Once I have some experience under my belt I'll be good. Todd Reid will most likely be at the autoX event I'm going to so I'm sure he can hook me up too.

I can't complain about the kit. Body roll is greatly reduced compared to stock.

Yeah I did notice that on my 94 hatch that I had the kit on last (its been driven about 300 miles by me...kit is pretty damn new). I stiffened up completely and dumped it and it rode really nice....I didn't have to worry about big bumps in the road ripping off my oe lip.
