make sure it is secured in the cluster, then make sure its secured in the vss box, then see if the vss box is connected to the trans correctly.

it is less rare that the speedo cable is bad, more common to have the vss or cluster tobe faulty

well its secured in both i think, but my rpm gauge works... does that run off the same cable?

i double checked the cluster, and got it in there good, and im not so sure about how it goes in the vss box but i pushed down on it really hard. i know it used to work then quit,

Rpms run elctircally off of the dizzy, not linked to the vss

vss on cable is vacum related. make if you have PS that it is conneted correctly. if not, loop the two inlets, If that is bad, then change the vss out.

your cluster might just be bad., but that is pretty rare that they go out like that. you might even have gotten some dirt inthere and it clogged the cable to the cluster

Is it? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I always assumed the cable with the tab just turned with the plastic speedo gear and turned the sprung needle on the cluster... weird.
