Hybrid affordalble?
As my first car i was thinking of a 99 civic hatch and swaping the engine for a b18c1 usdm i can get the whole engine tranny ecu ect. for 3k and the hatch for a cool 5k what do you guys think is it worth it for a first car buyer? it was either that or a 96 gsr? help me out what do i get?
I've had that same swap for almost a year.
Runs fine to me.
If the swap is in good condition, your car will run fine. Just make sure it's a quality install.

If it's done right and the engine or car don't have any intrinsic problems to begin with then yes, it's as dependable as any Honda. It's when you start "altering" things (and who doesn't) that you get into trouble. Keep it a stock swap and it will run forever with proper maintenance.
P.S. One thing to be aware of is if the car is a 99 the engine will have to be a 99 or newer according to california smog laws. An engine that fresh is going to cost you.
