Default Shorter antenna options for power antenna equipped integra?

random petty quesiton, but i'm gettin tired of the insanely long power antenna...anything i can do about it? Are there shorter ones that would replace it without causing any damage (because its power-operated)

does anyone have anything different on theirs??

I have the long power antenna, but I took out the motor for it. So it doesn't move up or down when the cd player/radio turns on..It just stays down. And it plays fine with the radio...But I guess that would depend on where you lived though..Another substitute would to be the antenna plug..=\

yea i thought about the S2000 antenna but i dont wanna bother with that.

how do you take the motor out!!?? that sounds like a really good idea. That thing going up and down annoys the hell out of me! The only time I listen to the radio is when the GF is in the car anyways lol

the easiest way to take the engine out is with a engine lift/cherry picker, you'll have to take out the radiator and remove the engine mount bolts though.....lol

To take the stock Integra antenna off, you have to grab some pliers and clamp them onto the chrome-looking ring at the base of the antenna (with a rag or whatever around the antenna to avoid scratching the paint on your car) and unscrew that ring. From there just pull back the trunk carpet and unplug and unbolt the antenna. That's if you want to completley replace the antenna with an S2000/shark antenna.

If you just want to pull the motor out then pull back the trunk carpet, unscrew the gold screw at the base of the antenna where it goes into the motor, and yank the motor off.

The easiest thing to do is just unplug the power from the motor.

Open your hatch and take a key and punch in the center of the clips which keep the carpet on the truck walls, they should fall right out then. Pull the carpet back and there is a plug on the top of the antenna motor. Just unplug it while the antenna is down and voila. This way it is easier to plug back in if you ever need it up again, rather than take the whole unit out.
