I have a 1995 Gsr and have noticed that between 6500-8000 there is a rattling noise coming from the engine that i can feel in the gas pedal and clutch. It also happend when im free revving. Is this detonation? if so what can i do to fix the problem?

possibly but it could a number of other things...need more info on the vehicle

 

im taking a wild guess here but maybe your motor mounts are worn out and arent providing adequate stabilization at those high engine speeds

 

well the driver side motor mount is missing a 1 of the 3 bolts....also im not losing any power when i hear the sound it has been doing it for the past 10000 miles and ive had no problems with the car. What other information would need about the car to determine if it was detonation? Everything is stock except for the dc sports header instake and exhaust.

 

Like what kind of mods...for all we know it could be turbo and your having detonation at high rpm's! But ive hear of that cat's in that yr integra wearing out and the material inside begins to rattle. Or it could be a heatshield that has worked itself loose or it could be that motor mount. Do you have inserts?

 

No inserts, All i have done to the car is a dc sports header high flow cat and greddy cat back exhaust. I did just have the engine rebuilt though but only with stock specification. But like i said i am missing 1 of the 3 bolts on the driverside engine mount

 

I have the same problem, but I have mount inserts. I didnt feel it until I ported my head and installed Type R Cams. Im not sure what it is tho, but i think It might be my mounts because now when I power shift, I can hear a loud clink that I didnt hear before from the tranny mount. So im guessing it could be the engine mounts.
