The coolant fan on the passenger side still runs after I turn off the engine. It can last for hours and I have to unplug it to save the battery. Any ideas on what's wrong?

Thermostat or fan switch.

 

Where is the Thermostat or fan switch?

Car: Accord 2000, LX, 4-cylinder

 

Try unpluging the one at the T-stat housing, see if that shuts the fan off

 

i'd say its the fan switch. same thing happen to me when i mounted it upside down and washed out the engine bay. the circut closed and made my drivers side fan keep running. Upplugging it wont help cuz the circut will still be active and will just pull power from the battery and you'll have to jump start it in the morning.

 

I bet if you unplug the fan switch, it'll keep running. On my '98 the fan won't run unless the key is turned on. Check if the fan relay is stuck.
