B-Pipe rattle common problem in GSRs???
My '94 GSR has a buzzy rattle kinda deal at 3200-4000 RPM...tech told me it was the A-pipe and i should just get an aftermarket header, but I'm pretty sure its just the B pipe...
Anyone else have this problem??
TIA

yea i do.. my resenator pipe is mest up.. the foam or something on the resenator is gone so the toher pipe in it just ratling everytime i rev it up or when i just drive regular. i got an after maket exhaust.. same thing happened to my 95 eg hatch and now its happenenin to my integra.. i guest because i run the car hard..
The lower half of the stock header, the A pipe I guess, has a double-walled pipe that will rattle when it has broken down a bit inside.
The cat can make the same noise when internal damage happens as well as the heat sheild attached to it.
Another rattle possibility, is when an aftermarket short shifter rubs against the exhaust pipe.
Best way to isolate a noise, is to have it up on a lift and as you go thru the rev range, someone underneath can poke and prod until the cause of the noise is found. Good luck.
