Default B-Pipe rattle common problem in GSRs???

My '94 GSR has a buzzy rattle kinda deal at 3200-4000 RPM...tech told me it was the A-pipe and i should just get an aftermarket header, but I'm pretty sure its just the B pipe...

Anyone else have this problem??

TIA

For the rattling if it's a 94 gsr maybe the rubber hanger are getting weak.

mine rattles too. right at 3200rpms-3400rpms. but it sound like its the heat shield on the header. i have heard from alot of people about it so i guess it is common

The lower half of the stock header, the A pipe I guess, has a double-walled pipe that will rattle when it has broken down a bit inside.

The cat can make the same noise when internal damage happens as well as the heat sheild attached to it.

Another rattle possibility, is when an aftermarket short shifter rubs against the exhaust pipe.

Best way to isolate a noise, is to have it up on a lift and as you go thru the rev range, someone underneath can poke and prod until the cause of the noise is found. Good luck.

i had the same probelm but on a 96 LS Integra. It turned out to be the heat shield loose just a little bit. Once i snugged it back down it was silent like new.

do you have a short shifter?...it sometimes does that when it hits the glass back right below and it vibrates and sometimes makes a rattle noise...it happens to me all the time when i turn on the car...either that or yup its the header
