Good place to buy a k20a2 motor?
Guys know of any reputable companies where I can purchase either new, or low mileage k20 motors and tranny? I decided I want to save for swap rather than try and spend more money on my d17 engine, and I figure later one once the swap is done I can always sell the d17 and 5spd m/t (with as many people that want to auto tranny swap
) thanks guys in advance!

I've had good luck from http://www.flashoptions.com, and I know of people that have had decent luck with http://www.nippon-motors.com, but that's about all I do know.

Like I said, I had good luck with them, bud. It doesn't hold true for everyone, though.

since when did ethan allen begin making motors? 10gs is too steep, I know I can get them a lot cheaper including install, just have to shop around, thanks for the link.
Alright guys I'll look around, my buddy says that he's gonna talk with some of his friends, and also that Japan is the best way to go, he said something about they saw off the front of the car (front clip) and ship it to you. So I'll consider all of my options, just was curious if someone really held a certain companie(s) highly.

with swaps you never know how much your going to put into it total. 10g's is a reasonable swap price if your swapping in a k20a motor. you cant forget about the motor mounts, kpro, and other misc. crap that you need in the swap. its not just dropping the motor and tranny in and being done with it.

if you went to Iraq and they treated you well, would you recommend that everyone go there as well?
not to be an ***, but I don't think people should recommend a place that has been known to scam hundreds of people out of tens of thousands of dollars

Ok, since you definitely have an issue with what I post, I'll use your post as an example.
Think of it this way, I mention something I had good luck with...
I comment positively on it...
Regardless of who had good/bad luck with it, I still had good luck with it.
The same way goes with the opposite end of the spectrum.
Say you had terrible luck with a specific part or component to your vehicle (doesn't even need to be that specific, could be anything)...
You comment accordingly, saying what a pile it is...
*insert large number* people disagree, because they have had success with the product.
Does that make you wrong in saying it was a poor product? No. It just means that you had different luck than the majority.
You need to stop trying to tell me that I'm wrong, in some way. I'm in no way incorrect in anything I've said in this thread. It's all of personal experience. Just post what companies you've had good luck with, and mention ones that you haven't. It'd be nice if you stopped trying to use me as a stepping stone to build your e-rep, it's annoying.

I don't have a problem with what you post, Sir.
e-rep? I don't need e-rep or anything of the sort, not do I care. Don't assume what you don't know, because I could give less of a **** about the internet or the idiocy it has to offer.
That's great you had good luck with them. My Iraq analogy still applies. Just because YOU didn't get screwed over just makes you a lucky one. If you referred them to another person who didn't know about their reputation and got screwed over, it would make you look bad. Now if you don't mind looking bad, then do whatever floats your boat. I was just trying to look out for you so you don't make someone else angry if they were to get screwed over.
Furthermore, the only thing I've said to you was on the topic of flashoptions. You are a needle in a haystack by having good luck with them. Have you even searched for them on google or yahoo as I have mentioned before? You have a good experience with them and you take it for granted, rather than reading the facts that many, many, many others have waited nearly a year for bullshit motors that are missing parts, wrong motors or are just complete garbage.

You made it sound as if I was implying that Plateus should only consider Flashoptions for his swap, which I didn't. You're still not seeing the fact that I was just stating what I had good luck with. I never stated it was the only option, and you're blowing the comment I made out of proportion. So, therefore your Iraq comment does not apply. I never stated that he should think about going there, in fact I never implied anything to him. My post was a simple comment on what worked for me, how he wants to use that information, is 100% up to him. I don't care who he uses.
As far as the comment that I'm a needle in a haystack (and all you mentioned, after the Iraq comment, for that matter), sure that's completely possible but you didn't need to post a scenario because I already did in the post you quoted. Basically, you typed two paragraphs for no reason.

I got mine from flashoptions ... not knowing their reputation. I went through another member from 7gcivic who was supposedly a flashoptions socal representative.
Did I get my motor in the end? yes. Did it come complete with everything that was promised? hell no. Was it a clean motor? hell no.
I ordered a front clip, and it came with just a full swap and a busted radiator. All lines, o2 sensors and hoses were cut. The ******* ECU was not included. No shifter cables, no subframe, no suspension parts. The motor was completely full of corrosion, despite it being heavily wrapped in saran wrap crap.
I spent more than I would from any other place, plus I paid more for it, got less and waited far longer than anywhere else [11 months].
I would GLADLY have spent an extra $2000 from any other place and would have been happier with a more complete, cleaner motor ... that's how much ******* trouble I went through. I reported flashoptions to the FBI, blah blah blah.
if you have a choice of going through a place a little more expensive or going through a cheaper route, go with the more reputable shop. [ie. hmotorsonline.com]

wow guys, thanks for the feedback, I was considering the k20, but...the price just so much, I checked out flash-options, and just by the wording on the website and the pictures, it looked like they didn't care about the cars. But it was a place for me to look, so thank you toyo for giving some input (not angry at all). I put up another post, which I'm sure has been up 1,000+ times, but I've narrowed things down to doing an h22a swap or just turboing my d17 set-up. The only thing that bothers me is the motor mounts, I wish I could buy some already made ones instead of custom
The H22 won't fit into the EM2 without serious modification. And people thought the B-series was tough, this would even more of a challenge. So, unless you've got roughly 20k, forget the H22.
MajinB has a good point, the K24 is cheaper, and has some fairly good options when it comes to power. So, you might want to look into it.

i'll check it out, thanks, but I'm starting to think about buying like a 93-95 civic to use as my project car, and just leave this 05 civic as my daily driver
HKS came out with a prototype(sp?) turbo kit for the k24a2. with its stock head and a bolt on kit at 8psi i believe it was getting 320+ at the wheels. it was somewhere in honda tuning long ago.
