Are ITR shocks and springs w/ 20,000 miles still good?
I found a decent deal on a set of itr shocks and springs from a 97 ITR w/ 20,000 miles on them. Am I wasting my money, or are they still good?
Struts, questionable, Springs fine, getting it to fit on an LS, not so easy... gotta get more parts there, the struts mount differently on ITR's as to the LS/GSR...
Yes they will be fine and for awhile too.
B2 - who wishes the stock suspension wouldn't last so long so he can get some Teins.

If everything is included, that's good. I still would be hesitant to put 5 year old, 20k struts on my new car. I'd put in new stuts. You just don't know how they've been treated...

they should be fine as long as they weren't autocrossed on every weekend. I would give it a 75% chance that they werent. If your getting them for less than $200 go for it.
shocks/springs usually should be ok as long as the user didnt use lowering springs on the shocks. if they stayed together with the stock springs, imo they could last forever.

That's funny... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say... No?
That's not funny at all. Why would ITR shocks wear so much quicker than any other car's? Sure shocks start degrading from the day you put them on, but how much wear can they go through in 20k miles?
I've used my original springs on my original shocks for nearly 200k miles now (subtract the two summers on Teins) and they are fine. Not perfect, but definitely much much better than stock LS shocks. I can hardly tell the difference between how my shocks feel and a friend's newer stock R.
20k miles is practically brand new. I wouldn't hesitate on picking them up unless they were used with some insanely low lowering springs. Most R owners don't lower their cars like that anyway, so it's definitely a good buy.
[edit]Not to mention the abuse my stock shocks have taken. About 3 years of Solo 2 every other weekend, 3 Solo 1 events, sex with 2 fat chicks in the back, 6 lapping days and one summer of beating a set of RA1s through cottage country.[/edit]
