I am the passenger. NOT the driver or the owner. the thing that pisses me off the most is everyone pretended i was ok when i was in the icu. for those who dont know what icu is, its means INTENSIVE CARE UNIT. any one in the icu is NOT ok. and im not. im paralyzed from the chest down. rendering me with no use of my hands, no use of my triceps, and half movement of my wrists. so im what you call a quadriplegic. and yes, life as i kno it has pretty much ended. and it fuggin sucks. and it was not my choice to try and prove that im johnny badass and drive faster than i knew i could. and i wish alll you motherfukers that say i was stupid or deserved this, roll over your car tomorrow and end up like me.

we were on jamison road in bright indiana going to harrison ohio to wash his hatchcrap. this road has many curves and quite a few people have gotten hurt on it. what really gets to me is that the owner/driver KNOWS this road well and i dont know why this happened. anyways, theres a chicane at the bottom of the road that cant be taken at no more than 65 tops. well, his car was equipped with a b16 and b16 trans. when i looked at his tach, it was well beyond 8k , and we were in forth. do the math, thats around 90 mph...i thought he was gna hit the brake, but no. the chicane turned right then left. he started to brake once we got into the turn, but it was too late. it started to oversteer and he tried to correct, but he countersteered too much. the momentum from the correction flung us to the right, over into a field which was 12ft or so below the road. my side hit first, which sent the car into a side over side roll. and did so 7 times and landed on its top. the driver was NOT belted in and was half out of the car and half under the car. i, on the other hand, WAS belted in, BUT the roof was crushed on top of me. i could not breath hardly at all cause both lungs collapsed, couldnt move, talk, anything. i thought, wow, this is it.....im gna die....
at first, everyone thought the driver was in worse condition cuz he was under the car. aircare came, then the emts found i was worse condition and i was flown to the icu. during the flight, i remember asking whoever was on the chopper to not let me die...
later that night, the driver was released. i, unfortunately, laid in a bed on a respirator wondering if i was going to live.
here, you can see where my head was pinned, look closely:
i have no life now. i can barely work the laptop im on now. i cant control anything that happens in my life at all anymore.
thats all,
justin

the autopower bar really held up. they would be dead for sure if they didnt have it. probibly the best 300 bucks the owner ever spent.

So it was a case of hwy jackassery that caused the crash, not just "sand on the road" like the original poster tries to say.
It's a shame that the passenger was the one injured. Just like with drunks, they crash their car and walk away, and the innocent people they hit end up dead. All you can hope for is that justice is done after the fact, in this life or the next.

different as in, lives lost?
<-- definitely changing my thoughts on seats and harnesses on a 'roll bar'...
i'll keep my stock seatbelts unless i switch to a 6 point cage.... right?
