Default Tranny to block brace removal

Many aftermarket headers require some sort of massaging of the ITR tranny to block brace. I've read that some people completely remove the brace. I recently picked up a Hytech header at a great price (used) and I know installing this means modifying or removing the brace.

What are the thoughts about modifying vs. removing the brace? I'd rather not remove it since I can't imagine Honda would install it if it wasn't needed. BTW, this is for a dedicated track car.

My brace has been off my track only ITR for a few years now. I don't even have the GSR braces in place.

I would *like* to have a brace in place, but with my Hytech there is simply no room.

Nothing has broken yet.

Option 3: have a custom brace made.

To my knowledge, the GSR one at least is made to support the engine when it's out of the car with the tranny removed. There are how many other big 17mm bolts holding it to the engine?
