...Odd Question-DC Sports Headers...B series SS Polished obviously polished, but Brushed?...
Wsup everybody...
....Ive looked up and down and all around for the answer to this question maybe its obvious and i dont know, or dont get it, or what...But...
...Ive been looking at some DC Sports Stainless Steel Headers for my b series motor (b16)...I highly prefer the SS over the ceramic, however many places have the option to order a "brushed" stainless steel or a "polished" stainless steel...
...I prefer that my headers have the "polished" look to them, but will that only be the case if i order the polished headers? I would assume that if i order stainless steel headers however, one way or another, they should come with the polished look, what is the difference, both looks wise and performance wise, of the brushed and polished?...
...Modacar has the polished for like 489 and the brushed for 359...?...

polished is really shiny, like a mirror finish. Brushed is less shiny, and not with a mirror finish, but still looks good (IMO).
by the way the brushed and the polished have no diff in the proformance of the header. The polished will take a lot more work to keep looking nice.
Gotcha thanks guys i really appreciate it...Also, quick question, i have a feeling a majority will answer comptech but ill answer anyway....
...Used(4-5 months, good condition) Comptech 4-2-1 Header or Brand New 4-2-1 DC Sports SS header 4-2-1?...Same price, I was gonna go with the comptech originally, but Ive talked to a couple people that told me, although the quality was good , the performance increase honestly was not all that great...and if thats thecase, id just spring for a brand new header that id know exactly what id be getting, ....opinions?...

I was recently searching for a b16 header also. After some research it seemed pointless to buy a dc 4-1 ss for the price they sell for. As far as I am concerned the dc 4-1 design is not worth that much, the material and construction is good though. I was considering the profab 4-2-1 header because you can get them on honda-tech for $450 new. I ended up buying a used comptech 4-2-1 ss stepper header because I got a really good deal. In the realm of real headers (toda, an-r, DTR) comptech is on the bottom but for the money it costs less than the dc, and I think it will be much better than a new DC 4-1 made for the b16.
dont get me wrong dc headers are very well made, but their prices have skyrocketed and for a little more you can get a well made stainless header with a better design.
Oh and as far as a DC 4-2-1 design, that is not the same thing as say for example comptech 4-2-1. The dc 4-2-1 wont yield much gains.
