JDM GSR has 180Hp 126Trq 10.6 Compression
JDM Type R has 200Hp 134Trq 11.1 Compression now do u see the difference?
i would personally get a GSR and upgrade the internals and maybe a b16 tranny along with it. this would cost cheaper and would definitely match up with an R

obcourse the type r is much better.

IF you have the money.

But if your broke like me then the jdm gsr would be more than enough to make you happy. and you can always upgrade the parts so your as fast as the jdm type r.

the jdm type r actually usually costs about the same or a lil more than a Type S k series swap.

but the type r drops in. the k series needs thousands of dollars in parts.

Do you have a smog shop hookup or something? Cuz you should know that it isn't exactly easy to make a JDM engine swap California legal. There's stuff like emissions equipment needing to be installed and functional and taking the car to a state referee...

If your just getting the engine, I would go for a GS-R. The Type R engine just has better cams, pistons and air flow through the head.
Chances are, you'll upgrade the valve train anyway, so why waste the money on a Type R? As far as airflow, a simple Port and Polish will work.
If I had to choose between the WHOLE CAR, I would take the R, but jus the engines... I would go with a GS-R.
I hope this helps.

That is why he should go for the jdm itr . Comes with jdm 4-1 header and 4.7 final if you get the 98+. And be reliable

jdm itr is 1000 dollars more than the gsr, itr is where its at, i paid $4134 shipped for my itr, it was worth the money, the gsr wouls of cost me $3134, so i went with the itr instead.

thx for all the input.....for the money its not a problem at all because i'm getting a once in a life time deal for both motor......i was planning to just go with the jdm gsr since i can get the seller to lower the price even lower and just drop in a jdm itr 98 spec lsd tranny i sould be able to keep up with any type r swap or even smoke it......correct me if i'm wrong but that seems like a better setup because i have more options and save alittle more money to spend to make it even better then the type r.....but it really comes down to the price for both engine.....if i can get the itr for cheaper i'll get it if i can get the jdm gsr cheaper i'll get that.....either way i get a good engine no matter what i'm i right correct me if i'm wrong thx

That is my same question right there ^ What is wrong with your GSR, that you want to pick up another GSR, is it just becuase it's JDM? If you have a GSR, just build it...don't waste money on a swap...
