Idling Buddy Club Spec IV?
I have a 12.1-1 compression b20v. i'm using the Buddy club spec IV's. I got a basemap from the tuner i'm going to. Basically he said to turn the cam gears +4 on the intake side and +2 in the exhaust side, turn the fuel pressure to 50 and set the timing to 18 degrees. I haven't set the timing but i did retard the timing a bit. When i start up it doesn't stay on unless i hold on the throttle a little bit. i'm tuning with hondata s200 and have rc440 injectors. Question is should i just tow it to the tuner? or should i try something else? any suggestions?
i left my cam gears at 0, 0. if you advance the exhaust cam, it can make it worse if you don't push the timing in the idle cells. That was my problem when i had both cams advanced. Im surprised your tuner is telling you to advance the cam timing, when you want to start with a base tune that is safe. Just leave them at 0, 0.
My fuel pressure is 45 psi WITHOUT vaccuum, about 35 with vaccuum. Take out about -25% of fuel in the first for columns, up to 1000 rpms. Aim for a low 15:1 a/f ratio. My timing is 21 degrees now, but it does idle fine with 16.5 degrees in the map also.
