Default 06 silverado

ok my boy jus got an 06 silverado. and where were tryin to put a deck in his car, but we ran into some trouble. we bought the wiring harness for the car and hookd up all the wires. but when you plug it into the car and turn the car on nothing happend. i checkd all the fuses and all of them look fine. is there anything else we need to buy to hook up the deck?
btw its a JCV deck

if you notice.. on the harness. theres a red wire.. which is the accessory.. but on the factory harness there is no wire.. for it.. either go down to the ignition harness and grab the accessory and put a fuse in line or buy the right Harness kit for your vehicle...

i had the same problem but on my civic you should make sure you have a good ground..like i wire mine to the harness but the ground was still bad so the head unit woundnt turn on but then we grounded inside the car and now it works fine. Mine was a JVC deck as well.

The newer GM cars/trucks require the expensive harness ($120) to maintain full system health (or so they call it) since there are alot of other functions that run through the factory radio. DataBus systems are fun!!

And as previously stated, there is no Switched 12v in the radio harness.
