Vtec spool valve (Vtec selanoid) leaking oil on D series motor. Any idea's why? Is the Vtec spool valve faulty

 

naw its probably the gasket I think its like $11.00 at your friendly local honda dealership parts counter

 

I already repleced the O-ring gasket+fitler on the housing and it still leaks!

 

on the part that bolts to the head or the top part
maybe a headgasket?? i dunno
clean the place with degreaser where the leak is and then drive around pop hood and look exactly where the leak is

 

Yea, I've done that too and fo'sure the leak is coming from the Vtec Spool valve. If you look closed you can see the oil starting to building up where the spool valve housing connects to the head. I already replaced the O-ring gasket on the housing so it could be the smaller o-ring on the selanoid.

then the valve is still good

tighen it down more?
i just rebuilt my b16 and the only gasket i didnt replace was the vtec sol. it doesnt leak it looked kinda old so i torqued it a little more than usual so... i dunno

maybe a nick in the gasket or the head/valve i really couldnt tell without looking at it
