Default oxygen sensor question?

This is for my 96 civic w/ b16 swap. I keep getting a CEL after i reach a high rpm. checked the code via jumping the service plug. Got primary oxygen sensor.

are oxygen sensors for specific applications or is it universal?

i'm also running a test pipe. would a o2 simulator suffice for right now until I get my full exhaust?

I'm pretty sure, as long as its a 4-wire its "universal"

You still have both O2s with that test pipe right?

an o2 simulator on the primary will not be advised as that is the sensor that adjusts your air/fuel ratio.

and yes as long as its a 4 wire and is hooked up properly they are interchangable

so you're saying that if I use a o2 simulator on the primary its bad? why? doesn't it send a "normal" signal to the ECU?

no, i'm currently running just a primary o2 sensor as I'm currently running a jdm obd1 p30 ecu.

yes running a simulator on the primary is bad. the sim sends a signal to the ecu that is "normal" which means it fools the ecu into thinking its working properly even if it is not. the primary has to be fully functional otherwise your gas mileage will be shot and your air/ fuel ratio will be off and not constantly changing itself like its supposed to
