Default release and pilot bearings

got a type r pressure plate to put into my jdm j1 tranny cause of pressure plate issues (suspected). the disc is a clutch masters 3rd stage carbon kevlar segmented one. since my tranny is cable would the type r bearings fit or do i have to get one from a da 90-93 teg. looked on the faq but got nothing. priced the parts and the cost the same. thanks all.

I'd get a release bearing for a 90-91 teg

Pilot bearings are all the same I believe.

I have a cable B series clutch release bearing if you are looking for one. I ordered the wrong one when i bought mine. It's brand new and unused. I have a hydro tranny so I have absolutely no use for it. PM if you are interested

ya but remember you've got the smaller input shaft. i'm not sure if it makes a difference on the throwout bearing or not, so get 90-91 to be safe

:-) did some research and found that 90-93 teg release and pilot bearings are the same ie part # 910006-634-008 "pilot bearing" 22810-ps1-015 "release bearing". although 90-91 clutch disks are the same, but 92 and up are the same which differs from the 90-91. 90-91 carries two types of disc part # 22200-pr3-030 and 22200-pr4-020. 92-up teg carries two types of disks part # 22200-p72-005 and 222000-p72-015. hope this helps anyone with my dilema or any clutch issues.

Follow the mfg's suggestions.

I would say 500 miles is plenty.
