Default Weight differences between Honda/Acura shells in stripped form; And what causes these differences?

For my next project I'm going to be looking for just a shell with dash and all vent piping. Just something that is streetable, but stripped to the bare essentials. So I was wondering if there was really much weight difference between all the honda/acura bodies after they have been stripped down and what causes those differences when the car is pretty much bare.

For instance: The CX/VX hatch (92-95) weight around 300-250 lbs less than the EX/Si. But the EX has sunroof, power options, cruise, (94-up have dual air bags standard on EX/Si), heavier engine to start with, power rack steering, some Ex/Si might have ABS....sturdier suspension (?)... etc.... So I just wanted to know if everyone could post the weights of their honda/acura shells and how extreme they are stripped or anything to shed some light on the topic.

TO BREAK IT DOWN......Since I like the coupes and teg's better than the hatches, the main questions I want to be answered are:
Weight difference between CX/VX shell VS. EX/DX shell
Weight difference between CX/vx shell VS. Integra shell
Weight difference between EX/DX shell VS. Integra shell

TIA

yes there is a big difference.

the problem is that once you start slapping on swaybars and big springs/shocks/wheels/tires you are adding weight anyhow.

get a CX hatch from a theft recovery or race team project car.

CX = best platform for a super-low weight racecar (besides a crx/ef of course)

Civic CX weighs lighter than a CRX .

That's a hell of a combination. GSR block with basic bolt ons in a '92 CX with some light suspension work... I've always thought that what was said about weight above was true.. 100% Street Legal too!

Default But...they are all the same platform

But.. I really want an integra shell. All those extras like sunroof, cruise, power steering rack.. all add up to a lot of weight. but.. as everyone knows the cars are built on the same platform, which is why many parts are interchangable.

If they are the same platfrom, shouldn't they all be relativey the same weight when stripped down to the bare essentials. And if not, what is the weight difference in precise #'s. I'm pretty sure that when stripped down the integra weighs in close to the CX shell. I have many friends with CX fully built hybrids and I know what they are capable of, but coupes are much more my style.

I think you guys are wrong to assume that they are all very different in weight when stripped down, unless you know for a fact. I understand that there could be subtle differences, but nothing major.

So... does anyone know the exact differences in weight between the shells themselves of a civic coupe vs. an integra vs. a civic CX.????????????????????

nope.

really, if you want the ultimate hydro tranny B series friendly chassis, go with a CX.
I know the Integra RS is a lightweight too, but still it is heavier and not as tossable as the lightweight CX on the road/track because of the RS's heavier weight and longer stance.

maybe YOU can find out how much a 1994 Integra RS weighs... I have no real facts on it.
I do know that uber-racer "Mike K" in the ITR forum has a CX hatch AND an RS Integra... maybe he can set you straight
