I have a 91 CRX DX Auto I want to swap with a D16Y5 or Vtec-E Civic HX motor and a DX manual trans. the trans will have a 1.944 2nd gear and a .702 5th gear, and a 3.88 final drive So the 2nd gear will be shorter and 5th will be longer. The 5th will help with gas milage. I also would like to take the AC from the HX just because mine is broken. my question is what parts will I need beside motor, trans, and Ac compressor. Will switching out the Ac Compressor fix my Ac? Can I even switch out the AC compressor? Will that trans work with that motor? will that mess things up if I switch out the gears in the trans? I got a bid of 650 in labor, but I have to supply the parts. I have a guy who will ship the trans with the different gears for 225. any help is greatly appreciated.
