h22a overheating
i am having a really bad problem with overheating on my car. i tried searching for the problem but only found problems when people are not driving. my problem is when the car is on the freeway. if im just driving around normal it will still do it but not as bad. when i am going really fast it overheats even faster almost like the rpm's have something to do with it. if you have any info please let me know. thanks
lets start simple. do you know if your thermostat isnt stuck closed? a easy way to check is to take it out and put it in boiling water and see if it opens. if that doesnt fix it then make sure your coolant mixture has enough water, water dissipitates heat better then anti-freeze. it cant be your fans, since your fans are onyl effective during low speeds, and this is happening ont he freeway too.

my friend had a similar problem with his b18. his car was overheating because his fan wasn't cutting on. it was a blown fuse. i don't know if that's it but it's worth a shot

if it is the fan that is causing it to overheat it should'nt still be overheating on the freeway, the fan is only effective during slow speed driving. is your water pump working? maybe the impeller is broken and is not moving the coolant efficiently enough or not moving it at all

wouldnt that just mess with his guage? and possibly confuse his ECU into thinking the car is too cold or hot. but he seems pretty sure that his car is definately overheating. dont know, but its worth checking out.
edit: for the OP, how sure are you that it is really overheating? and you guage just sint giving you false info?

i am sure it is overheating but i solved the problem, i had too much freon in the a/c system so when it was at high rpm's the compressor would work too hard and the condensor would get way too hot, which would not let the radiator to cool down. that is why it overheated at high rpm's. just took some freon out no more problem the a/c even works better now. thanks for all the help though.
