pioneer DEHP400 AUX input only plays through rear speakers
Hello-
I had a pioneer DEHP4000 in my civic for quite some time, and recently my truck radio died so I used the civic one in the truck.
I noticed they had the exact same plug (the truck one was an older, crappier model of pioneer's DEHP3100) so I simply plugged the p4000 in. I used the two female RCA on the back of the HU and connected it to my iPod.
Not only does the iPod play in radio, cd, and AUX mode... but its only in the back speakers. I tried adjusting the fader with no results. The volume on the HU does nothing to the actual level, the only way to adjust the volume is through the iPod.
Any advice? Am I misusing the AUX input?
Thanks!

lol, could be? I saw two ports and I know I have AUX so I said why not? Like I mentioned they are female, although there is a plug on the back of the HU that states 'RCA Front Output: on it... I dont know much about

Im a bit confused by your reply, which plugs should I check the pinout on? What pinout?
As of right now, I dont mind tooooo much about the sound quality. This is my daily driver and I just want the iPod hooked up for the 8 hour drive I am about to make
How can I check to see if I am doing it correct?

yep, the cd function provides sound through all of the speakers... and the fader functions as it normally should.
